INTERVIEW WITH DEATH... JÜRGEN DOMIAN BETWEEN NIGHT AND DAY

Jürgen Domian is Germany’s most famous night talker. For the last 20 years, he has been called every night by thousands of people, seven of whom end up on the air. Their trust in him knows no bounds. In many cases, they talk about a recent death experience.

The night time is the perfect backdrop for this kind of existential dialogue, which sometimes pushes all boundaries. For callers this intense conversation with Domian is often the only chance to talk about their innermost dark thoughts – opening up their souls under the protective cloak of the night. And regular listeners can hardly wait for his nightly show: a female trucker driving through the dark night, a baker kneading dough in his night-time bakery, a petrol station attendant...

Domian himself is also a night person who never goes to bed before 6 am. His entire body clock has been set to the night time for 20 years. But every summer, Domian stops talking and goes travelling on his own for several weeks. He wanders through the midnight sun of Scandinavia – so far north that it is light 24 hours a day. Here, he recharges his batteries for his next night talks.
