SOMETIMES I IMAGINE THEM ALL AT A PARTY

WAS AN EMPFINDSAMKEIT BLEIBT

A film by Daniela Magnani Hüller

World Premiere at the Berlin Filmfestival / Forum 2026

Fourteen years after the film-maker survived an attempted femicide by a schoolmate, she is revisiting the key moments and people of that period in her life. These memories are full of warmth and optimism but also of coldness and brutality.
In a fragmented, self-reflective narrative, she re-examines her experiences and seeks out the people who played an important role for her in the three years around the traumatic experience: a teacher, a girl from her class, a doctor, a public prosecutor, a detective inspector, her half-sister and a friend in Brazil. In these conversations, she asks what they recall about those situations – and looks for answers to the questions that have remained with her throughout the years. This journey takes her from Munich to Rio de Janeiro.
